Céline Rita was launched in 2008 by Céline Rita Chapman after her graduation from Auckland’s AUT University with a Bachelor of Fashion Design. Since then she has gone on to complete several successful and highly sought after collections before being awarded the chance to show at Fashion Week 2010.
Unapologetic about letting girls dress like girls, Céline Rita captures a fresh, pretty aesthetic whilst still remaining edgy with unique textures, a varied colour palette and an innovative design philosophy.
Céline draws inspiration from wide ranging sources; film, magazines, music photography, street fashion and art to create pieces that are wearable yet distinctively of her own design. From Madeline to the Nutcracker to memories of a quintessential New Zealand summer, Céline’s pieces are unpretentious with an understated quirk, remaining true to her own personality as a designer.
As her experience in the industry grows, Céline’s design perspective is constantly developing, crafting garments with just the right amount of effortless cool, whimsy and daring - made for the girl next door who’s not afraid to stand out from the crowd.
As her already dedicated following in New Zealand and overseas grows, Céline Rita continues to be a label committed to quality, where every piece is made with love right here in New Zealand. With plans for an independent retail outlet in the future, Céline is certainly a young face to look out for in the years to come…
